Client Profile:<\/strong> Malachi Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) Youth-Based workforce development Organization for at-risk youth, in and out of school ages 14- 21 years old. (Middletown, Ohio)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong> Youth Based Workforce Development organization who was getting federal WIA funds was in jeopardy of losing funding due to a 60% retention and completion rate, 80% is minimal. \u00a0<\/p>\n Solution:<\/strong>\u00a0After being hired as the new service provider, we assessed and changed the current program modules to fit\u00a0current technology trends and industry standards. We also modified the course curriculums to fit the student demographics. For 2-years we achieved\u00a0100% retention and 100 % graduation rates. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Client Profile:<\/strong> Carolinas College of Health Sciences is a public 2-year college located in Charlotte, North Carolina. \u00a0The college is a subsidiary of the Carolinas Medical Center and owned by Carolinas HealthCare System.\u00a0(Charlotte, NC)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong> CCHS looks\u00a0for solicitations from artist to produce their yearly Martin Luther King program designed for the employees of the hospital and the school. \u00a0<\/p>\n Solutions: <\/strong>Powerup USA \u00a0was hire and proposed to produced an interactive speaker series, where youth and employees engaged\u00a0in conversation about civil\u00a0right from the perspective of today's\u00a0youth. \u00a0The students led the conversation by asking the employees thought-provoking questions about their\u00a0personal experiences and thoughts about the past, present, and future\u00a0of civil rights. After the conversation, each student and one of the employees shared their\u00a0conversation\u00a0with the entire\u00a0room for understanding and a Q and A session.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div> <\/p>\n Client Profile:<\/strong> Studio 345 after school Film Program\u00a0 (Charlotte, NC)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong>\u00a0Class project was to see the challenges\u00a0for homeless men in\u00a0finding\u00a0affordable\u00a0housing and the barriers to\u00a0self-sufficiency. \u00a0<\/p>\n Solutions: <\/strong>Took Film students throughout Uptown Charlotte to meet and interview homeless men and the director of the Men's Shelter. Students were able to get first-hand responses concerning the problems, need and lack of affordable housing for the homeless populations in Charlotte, North Carolina.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div> <\/p>\n Client Profile:<\/strong>\u00a0The Rock Worship Center\u00a0(Charlotte, NC)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong>\u00a0 Youth-based\u00a0Church News<\/p>\n Solutions: \u00a0<\/strong>Created the church news and announcements as the \"Rock Report. <\/b>We utilized the Tricaster media\u00a0system to create virtual sets, where students 8- 12 years old wrote and directed the announcements.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Client Profile:<\/strong>\u00a0Bruns Academy Elementary School located (Charlotte, NC)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong>\u00a0Industry professionals to come and share the many career\u00a0options available\u00a0<\/p>\n Solutions: <\/strong>Powerup USA \u00a0came with to an entire TV production set with green screen, camera, and TV monitor to expose students to the world of TV and Film. Students\u00a0were able to\u00a0utilize the camera\u00a0behind the\u00a0scene and\u00a0act\u00a0as news reporters in\u00a0front of the screen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div> <\/strong><\/p>\n Client Profile:<\/strong>\u00a0Institutes of Construction Technology, Manufacturing, and Health Care (Dayton, Ohio)<\/strong><\/p>\n Challenge:<\/strong> After training workforce development community Service project.<\/p>\n Solutions: <\/strong>\u00a0Development and managed a technology service project where student refurbed desktop computers, installed and configured Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
